In order to enrich the campus cultural life, further create the atmosphere of ‘learning history and loving the Party’, and inherit the fine traditional culture of the Chinese nation, on the afternoon of May 24th, the History Group of Anqing Foreign Language School’s west campus held a historical sitcoms performance in Grade 7 with the theme of ‘Recalling the Eventous Years and Appreciating Chinese Civilization’.
To start with, this activity has been strongly supported by school leaders, head teachers in charge of Grade 7 and all the members of the History Group. Besides, the whole activity was in good order, from the initial planning and publicity to the rehearsal during mid-term stage and the final effect presentation.
To be concrete, by searching for materials, reading texts and figuring out roles, students boldly presented their own understanding of history and acted out historical stories vividly. Wu Can, from Class 701, recreated two enlighten speeches made by Chinese diplomat Gu Weijun at the Paris Peace Conference in the film ‘My 1919’, which let the students feel the sadness of ‘A weak state has no diplomacy’ in old China; The students of Class 704 staged a tense ‘Xi 'an Incident’, which fully unfolded the patriotism of two generals, Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng as well as the profound and overarching principles of the Chinese Communist Party; ‘Mao Zedong’ and ‘Chiang Kai-shek’ from Class 702 had a ‘Chongqing Negotiation’, whose performances made the students present fully feel the noble character of the Communist Party of China, who puts national interests first and strives tirelessly for China's peace and democracy.
On the whole, we move the history on the stage, and let the solidified history alive. This activity further stimulated students' interest in learning history, deepened their understanding of history and culture, improved students' comprehensive quality, and sublimated their national pride and sincere feelings towards the Party. Therefore, let us always be faithful patriots and readers of history, respect history, remember history, tell history, and carry forward history!
